Dorm Studio Pet Photography

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our website and your purchase or participation in photography services provided by Dorm Studio Pet Photography (“we,” “us,” “our”). By booking a session, purchasing products, signing a contract, or using our site, you agree to these Terms.


1. Services

We provide photography services including (but not limited to):

  • Pet portraits

  • Studio sessions

  • Outdoor sessions

  • Event coverage

  • Commercial work

  • Family and human portraits

  • Photographic products (digital images, prints, albums, wall art, etc.)

Specific deliverables, pricing, and timelines will be provided in writing (invoice, booking proposal, email, or contract).


2. Booking, Fees, and Payments

  • A session fee/retainer may be required to reserve a date and time.

  • Unless stated otherwise in writing, retainers are non-refundable and apply to the session/service.

  • Remaining balances and product purchases are due as stated on your invoice or during your ordering appointment.

  • If payments are not made on time, we may pause delivery, reschedule, or cancel services (subject to applicable law and any written agreement).


3. Rescheduling, Late Arrivals, and No-Shows

  • If you need to reschedule, please notify us as soon as possible.

  • Late arrivals may reduce shoot time and may limit results.

  • No-shows may forfeit the retainer/session fee.


4. Client Responsibilities and Safety

Pets can be unpredictable. You agree to:

  • Inform us in advance of any behavioral concerns, bite history, reactivity, anxiety, or health/mobility limitations.

  • Maintain control of your pet(s) and bring leashes/necessary items as appropriate.

  • Follow studio or location rules and handler directions.

You assume responsibility for your pet’s behavior. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for injuries or damages caused by your pet or by failure to follow safety guidance.


5. Artistic Style and Deliverables

You acknowledge that photography is subjective and that you are booking us based on our portfolio style. We retain creative control over:

  • The selection of images presented

  • Editing style, color, and retouching approach

  • The final look consistent with our brand


6. Copyright and Usage

All photographs and creative materials remain the intellectual property of Dorm Studio Pet Photography under U.S. copyright law.

Personal-use license: When you purchase digital images and/or printed products, you receive a personal-use license for non-commercial use (sharing online, printing for personal display, gifts).
Commercial use: Any business/commercial use (advertising, branding, resale, publication by a business) requires written permission and may require a separate licensing fee.


7. Promotional Use of Images

Unless you notify us in writing, you grant Dorm Studio Pet Photography permission to use photographs from your session for:

  • Portfolio and website

  • Social media

  • Studio samples

  • Advertising and promotional materials

  • Submissions to publications or contests (where appropriate)

Opt-out: You may opt out of promotional use by emailing rafa@thedormstudio.com at any time. Opting out does not affect your purchased rights to personal use.


8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

  • Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid to us for the applicable service.


9. Force Majeure

We are not responsible for delays or inability to perform due to events beyond reasonable control (e.g., severe weather, illness, emergencies, natural disasters, government restrictions). We will work with you to reschedule or provide an appropriate remedy where feasible.


10. Governing Law and Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Dakota, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute shall be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction in North Dakota unless otherwise required by law.


11. Updates to Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. Updates will be posted with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance.
